www.NSLDS.ed.gov (National Student Loan Data System)
  • Comprehensive listing of all Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized Loans, Direct PLUS (Grad PLUS) Loans, Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, Federal Consolidation Loans, and Perkins Loans.
  • Includes information on loan servicers for each loan (click the number to the left of each loan for additional information on each individual loan, including current lender/holder and servicer).
  • Direct Loans (directly from government) will say “Direct” in the name listed on NSLDS (only Direct Loans are eligible for forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program and only Direct Loans may be repaid with PAYE and REPAYE). Since July 1,2010, all federal loans have been originated through the Direct Loan program.
  • FFEL Loans are federal loans from a private lender. These are no longer allowed, but borrowers with federal loans before July 1, 2010 may have some of these.

  • Use Repayment Estimator to:
    • Upload NSLDS data to personalize repayment numbers.
    • Estimate repayment under all eligible plans.
    • Estimate eligibility and payment amounts under Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plans like IBR, PAYE, and REPAYE.
    • Estimate impact of changes in income, marital status (tax filing status), and family size on IDRs.
  • Information on Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), including PSLF Employment Certification Form.
  • Direct Consolidation Loan application (see PGPresents' Tips on Consolidation before you consider consolidation.)
